Lost Wax & Wild Botanicals: Make Your Own Silver Flower Jewellery Workshop in North West London

£65.00

Spend a relaxing half day exploring botanical wax carving and create your own floral piece of jewellery in Lizzy’s calm, beautiful flower filled garden and studio in North West London. Perfect for those that love nature and want to spend a rewarding ½ day creating a flower keepsake piece with an option to have cast in silver and sent to you as a memory of your day.

Skill Level:
Hobbyist/Beginner

What you will learn:
You will take a close up look at the flower and understand the construction of it.
You will learn how to make a pattern to recreate the flower.
How to translate the flower into wax.
How texture and manipulate the wax.
Plus how to convert your work so that it can be cast and turned into a wearable piece of jewellery.

What you will cover:
Understanding the different waxes that are using in jewellery making and their properties.
How to finish your piece so that it looks its best when it is cast in silver.
Lizzy will share with you the lost wax process and how it is used in jewellery to create pieces.

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is perfect for those that would like to have a fun and creative afternoon together. Perhaps you might want to bring a friend or come on your own to learn a new skill and play with the wax. We will spend a little time getting to know each other at the beginning so you will all feel comfortable together. It is a lovely way to explore nature and take a dive into how flowers are made up. Spend a little time for you, relaxing and enjoying the flowers in the garden outside of the studio in the breaks too.
There is no pressure to create a finished piece of wax flower, if you are excited to see what it looks like in silver then there is an added option to have it cast and finished by Lizzy in silver.
Suitable for 18 and over. If you have younger guests please get in touch.

Equipment:
Flowers to deconstruct.
Paper and scissors
Wax for creating the flowers
Cutting mats and scalpels (which are not hard to use as the wax we will be using is very soft and forgiving).
Everything except for the cost of silver/finishing is included in the workshop.

Class Size:
4

Dates:
9th August 1pm
18th October 1pm

Location:
Lizzy’s Studio
25 Coniston Gardens
