Would you like to know what happens to your flowers and how I keep in contact with you during from beginning to end?

Step 1 - Secure your preservation with an email.

If you have a wedding planned and you know you would like to have your wedding flowers preserved and made into jewellery it would be a great idea to secure your date as I only take a couple of weddings a week at the moment. Drying space will be expanding from the summer onwards as the new studio is finished. To secure your date send me an email and a £50 deposit will be taken.

For last minute bookings please send an email and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Step 2 - Choosing your package or jewellery pieces.

If you can choose what you would like in advance it helps me, to advise you how many flowers and greenery you will need to send to have your pieces made up. It also helps speed up the process a little bit as I can order the correct tops which are cast in either silver or gold in London. These are then cleaned and polished by myself, before they are sent off to be hallmarked which all has to be done before they can be added to your jewellery pieces.

Step 3 - Post or drop off your flowers to Lizzy

I will take a photo of the flowers and let you know when they have turned up by email.

Step 4 - Drying your flowers

I will use different methods to preserve your flowers depending on the flower and greenery. Afterwards I will then send you a further email to show you how they have dried, any flowers that you don’t want me to use please let me know at this point.

Sometimes the petals may change colour when they are dried, this depends on the pigments in the petals, they are normally a softer version, but occasionally they do switch colours from pink to purple for example.

​Step 5 - Creating your floral jewellery

The petals will then be arranged in the earrings or necklace size of your choice with a glass sphere and finished in either silver or 9ct gold if you want other colours or types of gold I can amend the quote for you. 

With very large petals that don't fit, these will be cut to size but only if you are happy with this, I tend to do this for smaller pendants and earrings, but it will depend on what flowers you have for your wedding.

Step 6 - Consultation to check that you are happy

Once the pieces have been made, I will take photographs of the pieces, (the tops resting but not yet sealed to the jewellery,) this will give you an idea of what the finished piece will look like.

At this point I will ask you if you are happy with the pieces before the flowers are sealed in the glass.

Step 7 - Finishing the pieces off and sending your jewellery to you

I will check that your postal address and details are correct so that I create a personalised tiny card that contains your new wedding name(if it is for a wedding), date and the flowers.

All the necklaces, earrings and cufflinks will come with this personalised card and sent in a keepsake box. I will also return any unused flowers, petals and greenery for you to treasure too. Postage to the UK is included.

Q&A

  • A. The process can take between 3 – 12 weeks depending on flower drying times, how many pieces you want, hallmarking and casting lead times. If it is time urgent let me know and I will see what I can do for you.

  • A deposit is taken for bookings in advance to ensure that you have got a spot for the flowers to be dried, please get in touch for last minute flower preservations, as my diary varies from week to week. You will pay half of the balance when the flowers arrive and the remaining half is paid before the flowers are posted out.

    Direct bank transfers are preferred however just ask for a website listing where you can use your credit card.

  • A. I have had other clients that have bought the flower preservation as a gift or as a surprise after the event, it is a really lovely and meaningful gift.

    You can either have a gift voucher that you give before the big day, for example if work have had a collection, or you can work with the bridal party so that they know about the gift and take charge of the flowers at the end of the day and send them to me, so they don’t have to worry.

    But what if it is a surprise??? Then you will be taking flowers in secrete without the bride knowing…this requires a little bit of cunning, I won’t say anything if you don’t. You only need a few flowers to make a necklace. Please feel free to get in touch if you want to know more.

  • A. You can pop the flowers with freshly cut ends, in water and store them in the fridge, this will preserve them for a little bit until you can get them in the post to me.

  • A. At the moment I can’t take flowers from overseas, but you could take some silica gel with you and some air tight containers to put a few of your favourite flowers in to preserve them. Bring them back and post them to me on your return.
