AI Use Policy

1. Purpose

I use artificial intelligence as a practical support tool, not as a replacement for my creative practice, judgement or human connection.
This policy explains how and why I use AI in my business, and where I deliberately draw the line.

My aim is to save time on difficult or repetitive tasks so I can spend more time designing and making jewellery by hand, developing my craft and connecting with people who value nature, memory and meaning.

2. What I will use AI for

I use AI only for low-risk, supportive tasks, including:

  • Helping me find alternative words or improve sentence structure.

  • Spelling and grammar support, particularly as I am dyslexic.

  • Clarifying my own rough notes or ideas into clearer drafts.

  • Summarising longer pieces of my own writing for planning or admin.

  • Light admin support such as outlining, checklists or organising thoughts.

AI is used as an assistant. It does not replace my voice, experience or creative decisions.

3. What I will NOT use AI for

I do not upload or use AI with:

  • Personal details such as names, addresses, emails, or phone numbers.
These are stored securely with my website provider Squarespace and Mailchimp.

  • Private financial information, which is handled securely by Stripe.

  • Client artwork, commissions, creative works or anything with intellectual property.

  • Any confidential or sensitive client information.

I will never fully automate the following:

  • Writing blog posts, newsletters or Substack content.
AI may only be used to check for typos or grammar.

  • Final pricing decisions.

  • Human interaction with clients or customers.

  • Complex, sensitive or ethical decision making.

All creative work remains human-led and handmade.

4. Data and privacy

I do not upload client information into AI tools.
There is no client data that needs to be shared with AI for the way I use it in my business.

I do not store client files in AI systems and I delete temporary chats or drafts once they are no longer needed.

Client trust and privacy matter more to me than convenience.

5. Human review

I personally review all AI-assisted outputs before they are used or shared.

I always double-check:

  • Facts, names, dates, and numbers

  • Any financial, legal, or business-critical information

  • Tone, meaning, and alignment with my values

I remain fully responsible for all final decisions, content and work delivered.

6. Transparency with clients

  • I am open about using AI as a background support tool if asked

  • I do not present AI-assisted work as fully automated or machine-made

  • All creative, pricing, and relationship decisions are mine

My work is grounded in human care, skill and intention.

7. Review and updates

I will review this policy as my business evolves and as AI tools change.
Any updates will reflect my commitment to ethical use, creativity and respect for the people who trust my work.
