Where have you been?

Why rush, good things come to those that wait.

I did that thing that perhaps we all do, get excited about a new thing, jump in with full determination that, this is it, the thing that will make us. I signed up to Substack during the middle of a workshop because Sara Tasker said it was the next big thing! I even made a song and dance about it in the chat. Followed loads of writers and then very quickly became overwhelmed with too many emails that I didn’t have time to read and I was so desperate to read everything that I saved them. Little did I know that the app does that too.

I realise that this all sounds silly and why was I feeling overwhelmed? I was running 2 major projects for a company, overseeing a volunteer project, looking after my own business, sourcing new work and looking after my own family and mother. (My mum is a whole new story but in short, yes she is a fully grown adult but is in the camp of: I can’t do anything in the tech world and fears the post that comes through the door!)

So now some months later (cough, cough) I have joined Sparkle, with the view to learn everything! And had I learnt my lesson about doing too much at the same time? Nope.

It’s been a further 2 months, things have really changed and I have walked away from some really big and exciting projects, as sometimes your sanity has to come first. But it’s taken months to be able to close those doors without making a mess. I’m too polite and reserved to really say what I need until it’s too much.

So now I’m here on New Years Eve, where I hope to share some of notes from the jewellery studio, creative inspiration, growing from seed, drying flowers, tales my past and my technophobe Mum.

Sorry I’m late but I got here in the end.

So here are my ins and outs for 2025!
