A one-of-a-kind pair of sterling silver stud earrings, inspired by nature and formed using Mitsuro Hikime, an ancient Japanese wax-shaping technique. Two slender leaf shapes, gently asymmetric, finished in soft white silver with polished highlights.
No two pieces made this way are ever quite the same, and that starts right back at the wax. Mitsuro Hikime is an ancient Japanese technique where warm wax is stretched by hand, slowly and repeatedly, until it settles into fine lines and ridges of its own accord, the kind of detail that can't be carved or planned in advance. Because the wax behaves a little differently every time, each piece that comes from it is genuinely one of a kind. These earrings carry that same individual character.
For the Fine Leaf Earrings, that hand-stretched wax was shaped into two long, slender leaf forms, each tapering to a fine point at both ends. They're not quite matched in length, one slightly longer than the other, giving the pair a natural, asymmetric feel rather than a perfectly mirrored one. Once the wax forms were right, they were cast in sterling silver and finished in soft white silver, with polished highlights along the edges where the light catches.
They're wonderfully light to wear, with all the texture and character of the collection in a small, everyday piece.
