This kind of texture can only happen one way, by hand, slowly, with warm wax. Mitsuro Hikime is an ancient Japanese technique where wax is stretched again and again until it settles into fine ridges and lines of its own accord, far more like something that's grown than something that's been shaped with tools. The wax never moves quite the same way twice, so the pattern it leaves can never be exactly repeated. This pendant carries the one and only version of its particular twist.
For the Spiral Vine Necklace, that same hand-stretched wax was formed into a long, continuous spiral, winding down from the bail to the tip the way a vine winds round whatever it's climbing. Once the wax form was right, it was cast in sterling silver and finished in soft white silver, with the curves burnished to a high polish that catches the light beautifully against the matte texture in between. It hangs from a fine sterling silver curb chain, letting the pendant take centre stage.
It's a lovely piece for everyday wear, but with enough presence to hold its own for something more special too, a true one-off that won't be seen on anyone else.

As this is a one-of-a-kind piece, once it's gone, it's gone. If you'd like a similar spiral design made to different measurements, get in touch to discuss a bespoke commission.
A lovely gift for someone who loves nature, individuality, and jewellery with real story behind it.
